Motion for FilmThe dark comedy anthology EIN MORD FREI is set in a Germany where every adult may legally commit one murder. Its opening titles explain this premise through a chain of casual killings driven by self-defence, jealousy and revenge. The absurdity is reflected in collage-style sets and puppet-like characters with bird heads: a visual play on “vogelfrei” (“outlawed”), with each species chosen to suit its act. After every murder, the federal eagle collects the used killing licence.
